Cookbook, Dairy, Eggs, Fan
FULFILLMENT OPTIONS
The Boston Cooking School Cookbook has been well-used, evident by its spine having been repaired with transparent tape. Resting on top, a melamine bowl of fresh eggs, which haven't traveled far to their place here in the farm's kitchen. The dairy bottle pleads to be recycled and reused, not discarded. This painting of a country kitchen countertop illustrates the anticipation of a sweet - or savory - concoction being created on a warm summer afternoon. The fan is ready to aid whatever breeze the nearby window can muster in controling the heat.
Whenever I create a still life that has more than one item, often the first letter of each item is consecutive in the alphabet. In this painting, the consecutive letters are C, D, E and F: Cookbook, Dairy, Eggs, Fan.
