When there is more than one item in my still life paintings, I will often choose them by ensuring that the first letter of each is consecutive in the alphabet. For this painting, Quinine, Roses, Stars the consecutive letters are Q, R, and S. I really enjoy painting vintage logos and type. This Canada Dry bottle captured my attention because it has a molded label rather than a paper one. It dates from about 1948 to 1966. The vintage star wallpaper enhances the mid-century era vibe.
